What is Ideate: Breaking the Barriers? 🧠

Ideate: Breaking the Barriers is a Ideathon conducted by IEEE MANIT Student Branch under its event called SAMWAD: Women in Engineering. SAMWAD is particularly focused on working with, and for Women in Engineering. The problem statements for the Ideathon are focused on some genuine problems faced by women in their daily course of life like Women Safety, Right to education in remote areas, and Women empowerment and employment.

The aim of conducting this Ideathon is to promote Women in Engineering and to nudge people towards ideating and implementing innovative solutions to tackle the problems faced by women.

Submission Rights

• By attending or participating in Ideate: Breaking the Barriers hackathon, you hereby grant IEEE MSB and its affiliates permission to use your likeness submitted submission, or other digital media if any and all of its publications (for promotions), including web-based and social media publications, without payment or other consideration.

• You irrevocably authorise IEEE MSB and its affiliates to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute these submissions for any lawful purpose. Additionally, you waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the submission.

What is Ideathon?

Ideathon is a competition under SAMWAD'23 where participants come together to generate and present innovative ideas or solutions to specific problem or challenges.

What is SAMWAD?

SAMWAD is an event organized by the IEEE MSB to honor the significant contributions of women in STEM, featuring Ideathon, extempore and guest lectures.

How can I participate in Ideathon ?

To participate in the Ideathon, register by scanning the QR code on the post or by following The IEEE-MSB's Instagram bio link.

Do I need to pay to register for any of the events?

No. The registration process for this event is free of charge. The registration for the quiz and idea submission can be done on Unstop.

What is the deadline for registration of Ideathon?

The registration for the quiz round will close on 17th October 2023.

Is it compulsory to submit a video
presentation showcasing the
solution corresponding to
the prepared PowerPoint?

Yes, submitting a video presentation alongside your prepared PPT is compulsory. If you can't attend the final round upon selection, the judges will assess the submitted video presentation as a substitute.

What is the format of Level 1 of the Ideathon?

Level 1 of the Ideathon features an online quiz on the Unstop platform with questions related to technology prowess and WIE awareness.

Level 2 of the ideathon allows participants to provide presentations (PPTs), video presentations, or prototypes to showcase their ideas.

What is the format of Level 3 of the Ideathon?

In Level 3, participants will present their ideas in front of esteemed judges and mentors at MANIT.

What will be the judging criteria for Ideathon?

You will be judged based on the innovation of your idea and how that idea's prototype would be of practical use in the modern world.

Does one need to register in a team,
or is individual participation acceptable?

Participation in both the quiz and Ideathon is open for individuals; team participation is not mandatory.
